The Essentials

Everyone has their go-to pieces and accessories — things that when melded really play a part in defining their style. If you take a quick flip through my Instagram, hopefully you can get a good sense of who I am and my preferences when it comes to dressing and accessorizing. There are pretty much four staples to my attire; things you’ll always see me wearing and things I live and swear by: a quilted jacket, cat eye shades, houndstooth, and pearls. I wanted to put my images  in different sections but so often you see me wear my go-to items together that I thought maybe just placing all the shots below would be easier not only for me but for you all to see how I like to wear them!

Headshot

So a couple of weeks ago I attended The Knot Pro Workshop in Washington D.C. The day came with amazing speakers, presentations, and the inclusive feeling of being around industry professionals (something I’m endeavorimg to be) happy to network and share their wealth of knowledge. One of many things offered at this event was the opportunity to have a headshot taken professionally and of course I practically jumped at this chance! I received my photo back this morning and this is the result. Thank you to Love Life Images for their work, I love it!

A Short Sabbatical

This weekend past, I took another trip into Middleburg, Virginia but this time with my family to celebrate younger sister’s twenty-first birthday.

A favorite location of mine for its quiet and amazing service, for three days we stayed at the Salamander Resort & Spa. Sitting on 340 acres in the heart of the city, it’s the perfect haven of recreation of relaxation with activities to suit persons of all ages. Take a peek at a few of my favorite shots from that lovely couple of days!

Middleburg Hunt Point to Point

A few years ago, a dear friend of mine invited me down to hunt country in Middleburg, VA for the annual spring race and of course, I was hooked.  A sunny day for pretty dresses, hats, socializing while sipping on Veuve Clicquot, and watching beautiful horses and their riders speed across a race course, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a weekend. Since that first year, I’ve tried to make each outfit better than the last. This year I had two dresses as options thanks to the new collaboration between Victoria Beckham and Target–you can find the full line here. Unable to decide between the two, I put them on Instagram and asked my followers to choose!

The likes came rolling in and the next morning, it was decided–I was to wear the black and white seventies number.

Dress: Victoria Beckham for Target | Fascinator: August Hat Company | Watch: Olivia Burton | Shades: Unique Vintage

Although pink is a much loved color for spring, I found this ensemble to be much more to my liking and taste as it was memorable and allowed me to perfectly pair it with a black netted fascinator, over the top cat-eyes shades, and a perfect red lip!
