Finding Self

I think one of the hardest things about blogging is finding where you fit in. There are so many amazing lifestyle bloggers out there with huge followings and the desire to keep up with everyone and be as impactful can be so stressful and tiring. I am still new to this way of chronicling life and I find that while I may have created my site over a year ago, my activity with it is stagnant due to the my mind constantly wondering what to do, whether my photos and content are good enough or if any will even care that I exist.

One of the major things I see successful bloggers say is to just be yourself and create what you want and you will organically build a following.  That is something I am currently encouraging myself to do and have struggled with. I have a love/hate relationship with labels. I love being able to understand the essence of something because of a label  but I find I don’t often fit into any, so ultimately there is no label that actually suits me. With my interests and background being so diverse, I’ve never really fit in anywhere and that has been my top concern as I’ve thought about pursuing this.

Be yourself“, and while that it easier said than done for me, it is something I’m going to seriously try from this point forward. I know I will still have little moments of panic when preparing a new post and creating content for it but I’ll also know that the only scale I need to measure up to is my own. And right now, in what I still think are the early days of my blogging journey, I promise not to be too hard on myself.
